NSA CAE-CD Designation Announcement

We are thrilled to announce that our Cybersecurity Program has officially received the National Security Agency鈥檚 Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designation.

The NSA awards the CAE-CD designation to institutions that meet rigorous academic and programmatic requirements in cybersecurity education. After a thorough review and validation process, our Cybersecurity Program of Study has earned this prestigious recognition, affirming the quality, depth, and relevance of our curriculum.

With this designation, our program is authorized to display the NSA CAE-CD designation and logo, reflecting our commitment to excellence in cybersecurity education and workforce development. We are proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing to advance cybersecurity education for our students and partners.

See how Marist is bridging academia and industry through a bold new partnership with Sentricus, a national cybersecurity firm. Students will gain direct access to mentorships, internships, and a podcast platform that focuses on real-world threats and innovations. A hands-on capstone project this semester tackles AI and risk management under Sentricus sponsorship, giving students a chance to solve pressing cybersecurity challenges. Marist's program now also holds a top designation from the NSA, reflecting its alignment with elite standards in cyber education.

Apply Cybersecurity Classroom Principles in our Security Operations Center

At Marist, we believe that a quality education includes frequent opportunities to practice techniques and learn by doing in a safe and hands-on environment. Our Cybersecurity degree students get the most use out of our Security Operations Center 鈥� a cybersecurity hub that allows you to practice hacking, prevent automated breaches, master cyber-defense technology, and conduct research on cybersecurity methods alongside experienced faculty.

51吃瓜网 Cybersecurity students utilize the Security Operations Center to study attacks against electric power plants, hacking airplanes via in-flight Wi-Fi, securing wireless medical devices such as insulin pumps, and the cybersecurity of smart cars and home assistants.

Faculty Who Lead in Cybersecurity Innovation

At Marist, you鈥檒l be studying in a hands-on learning environment with faculty who are experts in the cybersecurity industry and are determined to continue to enhance the discipline.

In fact, Dr. Casimer DeCusatis, who leads cybersecurity education and research for the School of Computer Science and Mathematics and oversees the Security Operations Center, has decades of research and education experience in cybersecurity. Having worked as an IBM Distinguished Engineer and IBM Master Inventor, Dr. DeCusatis has over 150 patents and has co-authored more than 200 technical papers, book chapters, and encyclopedia articles.

Cybersecurity Grad Named Forbes

Enrolling at Marist marked Kulvinder鈥檚 first visit to the United States. At Marist, he declared a major in computer science and a minor in cybersecurity. His journey to the US sparked his interest in travel which, combined with his interests in emerging technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence, have manifested into an impressive career venture. Lotay, along with his fellow confounders, have been recongized among Forbes鈥� 30 Under 30 in Consumer Technology for their software Pilota, which uses artificial intelligence to measure travel risk, like the odds of flight delays. Since launching in 2019, the company has analyzed over 200,000 flights.
