While COVID-19 has caused a tremendous amount of uncertainty, it has also shown how strong we are when we work together. We had a successful fall semester due to our high vaccination rate and our collective effort to follow health and safety requirements. To ensure a safe, in-person spring semester, we must all continue to do our part.

Happy new year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and had a chance to relax over the winter break. We're looking forward to welcoming you back to campus for the spring semester.

Urging students to customize their own education, Emma Butzler ���22, an Environmental Science major and Economics minor, took advantage of that pillar in a Marist education and created an internship to analyze how Hudson Valley residents interact with their environment.

On Wednesday, December 8, senior honors students from across the College community gathered to present their semester-long research projects in the Fall 2021 Honors Thesis Exhibit.

Eric James Seltzer '18, and Dr. Juris Pupcenoks, Associate Professor of Political Science, co-authored an article Russian Strategic Narratives on R2P in the 'Near Abroad��� which was recently published in Nationalities Papers.

President Kevin Weinman and his wife Beth have pledged $250,000 to Marist College. Their generous gift will support a number of priorities designed to make a Marist education more accessible and equitable for talented students, regardless of their financial situation.

The Hudson River Valley Review received numerous notes and inquiries after dedicating our Autumn 2020 issue to the memory of our colleague David Schuyler. This issue also includes two articles focused on different aspects of the Delaware & Hudson Canal.

Charlie Farrington ���08 has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Bloomfield Book Award for his work, African American Language.

Sean Sammon ���70, FMS and Landon Moore ���15 recently released a collaborative book titled Tales Told on the Road to Emmaus: Reflections on the World of God and Contemporary Christians.

On November 10, Marist will welcome Megan Deichler, the Executive Director of the Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center, to present the ���Social Determinants of Health and Healthcare Access.���
