The event welcomed University leaders, HVCU executives, student representatives, and members of the Marist community, all gathered to commemorate the launch of a credit union powered by students, for students. Although today marked the ceremonial ribbon cutting, Marist Red Fox Financial officially opened its doors in February and has been actively serving the Marist community ever since. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni have already begun taking advantage of the credit unions offerings, which include savings and checking accounts, loan services, and digital banking solutionsall delivered through a cashless, student-run model.
We are very excited to officially open this student-powered branch of HVCU on our campus, said Dr. William Lamb, Dean of Marists School of Management. Our students, faculty, and staff have worked incredibly hard to support this launch and make this new hands-on learning experience possible. Id especially like to thank our partners at HVCU for the enormous investment in time, thought, and resources they have made in this project. Theyve shown so much dedication to creating a positive learning experience for Marist students.
Located on the first floor of the Dyson Center, the credit union operates under a cashless model and is supported by HVCU professionals who mentor students through real-world financial projects. Many of the student advisors are members of the Red Fox Financial Club and employees of HVCU, bridging academic learning with professional development.
