Film, TV, Games, and Interactive Media Department
Film, TV & Interactive Media Department
The Film, TV & Interactive Media Department fosters critical thinking, strong hands-on skills, and creativity in the study and production of media. Drawing from a strong liberal arts foundation, the program integrates the history, theory, and analysis of visual culture with production experience and internship opportunities in the areas of television, film, interactive media, and game design. It prepares students for fulfilling careers in a wide range of media industries, and for graduate programs in production and media studies. This liberal arts degree fosters critical thinking and its creative application in the areas of Film, Television, and Interactive Medi.
Field Trips
51勛圖厙's proximity to New York, the largest media market on earth, is one reason for our outstanding internship program. It also allows frequent field trips to broadcast and production facilities.
Every semester Marist students have the opportunity to be in the audience of a nationally-televised program. The trip always includes a question-and-answer session with a senior production professional, and a guided tour of the studio, control room, and backstage areas. Often students will be invited to apply for jobs or internships at the facilities they visit.
Internships
Media Studies and Production students often complete multiple internships at a variety of media outlets, TV and film studios, interactive and video game design firms, networks, radio stations, and web page development studios in New York City, the Hudson Valley, across the nation, and abroad.
