Dual Degree: BS in Fashion Merchandising with a Fashion Promotion Concentration and MA in Marketing Communication
51Թ’s dual degree program is designed for students pursuing a BS in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Fashion Promotion and an MA in Marketing Communication in five years. While the undergraduate curriculum focuses both on the theory and practice of Fashion Promotion, the 30-credit hour graduate degree program provides students with an interdisciplinary and cutting-edge educational experience. Students will take courses in the areas of advertising, public relations, brand management, strategic communication, and social media. Students will learn the fundamentals of marketing communication research, social media analytics, branding, public relations and advertising management, global consumer insights, social and digital marketing strategies, digital storytelling, and apply what they learn to real-world projects both in and outside of the classroom. Students take six core courses and four electives in the digital marketing concentration.
Dual Degree Fashion Program vs Getting a Separate Master's Later
Choosing the BS in Fashion Merchandising with a Fashion Promotion Concentration and MA in Marketing Communication dual degree allows you to earn both degrees in just five years, creating a more streamlined, efficient path, rather than returning to school at a later date. The program integrates advanced marketing communication coursework with your undergraduate fashion studies, helping you build expertise in branding, advertising, public relations, social media, and digital marketing while maintaining a strong focus on the fashion industry. Furthermore, students pursuing the dual degree have the advantage of entering the workforce earlier. The BS in Fashion Merchandising with a Fashion Promotion Concentration and MA in Marketing Communication dual degree offers a clear, efficient pathway to advanced credentials and specialized expertise.
Curriculum
The 120-credit, four-year BS in Fashion Merchandising with a Promotion Concentration curriculum is based on a strong foundation of core liberal arts and fashion merchandising courses. The 30-credit hour Master of Arts graduate degree program in Marketing Communication provides students with an interdisciplinary and cutting-edge educational experience Students will take courses in the areas of advertising, public relations, brand management, strategic communication, and social media. Students will learn the fundamentals of marketing communication research, social media analytics, branding, public relations and advertising management, global consumer insights, social and digital marketing strategies, digital storytelling, and apply what they learn to real-world projects both in and outside of the classroom.

Tuition
The four graduate classes you will take as an undergrad will be billed at the current undergraduate tuition rate. Graduate classes taken after you complete your undergraduate degree will be billed at the current graduate tuition rate.
Requirements for degree completion
The BS in Fashion Merchandising with a Promotion Concentration requires the successful completion of courses totaling a minimum of 120 credits, with a minimum of 30 credits completed at Marist, a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA, the specified coursework for the student's major field, and a minimum 2.0 GPA in the student’s major field.
The MA in Marketing Communication is a 30-credit program; 12 credits will be completed as an undergraduate, and 18-credits as a graduate student in the fifth year. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and a "C" or better in all required courses.
